I Thought Of You Today

I thought of you today 

when I was driving

driving to the rink as the sun was rising

I heard a song on the radio and I started crying

I picked up the phone 

even though 

I know you are not at home

I thought of you today

among the clouds and stars

my phone call won't reach that far

At that moment I was wishing I had one more day

one more day to say

how much I love you and wished you could see my kids grow and play

wishing for one more day isn't going to bring you back

so I treasure our memories we had

I thought of you most today 

as I headed to the rink

and I started to think

What a view it must be 

although I would rather have you here with me

you never got to see him play

but now you get to see it in a different way

but we wished you could be here with us today.

I thought of you today 

and I missed your voice

as I was looking at old pictures of you 

with the boys.

You know best what its like to have a 

house full of noise

I thought of you today

and the legacy you left behind

an amazing lady...truly one of a kind

I have my angel sitting on my shelf 

that was one of many from your house

and I know you are now one to watch over all of us...

I thought of you today 

and it was just a little harder than other days...

WE LOVE YOU GRANDMA!

Coop's Fun Weekend

I was feeling bad because the boys have been on break but this is first time we haven't done a fall trip because of hockey, baseball and Braedyn's school schedule.

After his game Saturday his friend and teammate asked him to come stay and they were on break as well. So he was gone Saturday to Monday night... We missed him but it appears he probably didn't miss us much. I thought we had a long drive... They live in Wilmington by the shore! 

Over at the beach, it was also clear enough to see the super moon on Saturdsy night! 

So besides playing hockey and playing football as boys do... He got to ride a little motorcycle, go fishing, and take a boat ride. 

Great - he has been asking for a dirt bike for two years... I know what will be on his Christmas list this year! 

He has been wanting to go fishing too and Charlie hasn't had time to take him and in SD they weren't biting. I wished I could have seen his reaction when he caught that fish!!

I was so proud of him! He had about a week to practice and he was supposed to do the Karoke version but got nervous the morning of and the words were in the background vocals...

He got up there in front a whole gym of parents and students and did awesome!

I was in tears trying to tape this!

He was so proud of himself and said afterwards on the way home. "That wasn't bad at all, I want to do that again."

A Hike In The Mountain of Hillsborough

The boys are on break and we are doing a staycation this year since Braedyn is now on a traditional school schedule and with sports that are costly we don't want to miss anything.

I decided to take the boys on a hike up Occoneechee Mountain in Hillsborough. It was a cool morning but quickly got humid and hot as we climbed to the top.

It was a fun morning with beautiful views. It was about a 2 mile hike...Coop had brought one of his friends from school with. They were troopers!

Jordan and Mites Start Season

Braedyn kicks off Fall Baseball 2015-16

They kicked off the season with a tournament win in Oxford. These boys are like family now to us! Braedyn is lucky to be a part of such a great group of boys and coaches.
