My Recent Projects

I worked on some repurposing projects.

I think my favorite is the desk. I could not part with the boys crib. It was where all three slept and grew up in. It still has all their different teeth marks! My parents bought it for us when we were pregnant with Braedyn and it was a convertable crib. It was never converted until Jordan was outgrowing it. It was then a toddler bed untili he got a big boy bed. It is now a desk that they can all enjoy doing homework or artwork or playing on their laptops...

Jordan's Kindergarten Field Trip

I went to the Life and Science museum with Jordan for his class field trip this year. It was fun and he had a blast...

Cooper's artwork

Cooper drew this wonderful snowman in art class and it got chosen to be in the Orange County Schools art show. It is on display in the Orange County Library. He amazes me all the time!

Spring Break 2015

I can't believe it's Braedyn last long spring break!! We decided last minute to get away! The weather has been cold and we had a long winter! We ended up having no sports for Easter weekend. So we spent Easter at the beach!
It was wonderful with great memories made.
It's so nice to be able to take this time to spend together as we are so busy during school, sports and work schedules. A lot of times we have to divide and conquer and are going separate ways. It's nice to have down time and enjoy just being together.
We went to Georgia to St. Simons Island. Charlie has a past co-worker who had a vacation home there and we had heard how beautiful it is. It was beautiful!
It was a six hour drive and we got there on a Thursday around noon to be able to enjoy a whole day. The weather was perfect the whole time.
The boys hadn't been to the beach together since Jordan was 1! We pretty much just hung out the beach all weekend as we stayed at a condo right in the beach. They absolutely loved being on the beach. They made sand castles and buried each other. They dug for sand dollars and shells.
We met some new friends that we hung out with. They were from Georgia and lived the boys. They even decided to buy them Dawg hats as they didn't like the Gator hats.
We liked it so much I would love to have a vacation home there someday!
It was a very family friendly, safe, cute, small island.
Thanks for the memories!!

Catching up

It's been awhile since I have been on this blog! Life gets away from me, I get so busy I haven't had time to sit down with this.
Looks like it's been since November.
Christmas was fun we had a blast back in MN and spent time with family! It snowed the last day so the boys loved that!
It was another winter sports season with basketball and hockey. Charlie coached Cooper's team. Braedyn has really come into his own and he loves basketball. Jordan got to play this year too. He was a scoring machine... Scoring 22 of the 25 points in the championship game.

We played hockey close to home in a house league. Jordan played mites and cooper on the upper squirt team. They had a fun season and Cooper had an amazing season! The win all their tournaments and took home the house league championship banner. Jordan has decided he loves being goalie! It was fun!

Then came spring season! Braedyn is playing again with his Hawks Elite travel baseball team and having success. He is catching and playing second base. He is doing great!

Cooper decided he wanted to give Lacrosse a try and found that he really liked it and was pretty good at it. It is a fun sport to watch and I'm still learning it too.

It is always busy at our house and we are always on the go. I'll miss it someday.

A Hockey Mom's Thoughts...for my little rink rat

The smell of stinky gear,
the sound of a puck hitting the boards,
and the chill in the air,
there's no place I'd rather be than there

It's blood, sweat, and tears
hard work, dedication and cheers
miles over miles and lots of coffee
and mom's mini van is what got you here

Some people may never
get to meet their favorite hockey player
but I tuck mine in each night
when we say our prayers

Sports teach us so many life lessons
and provides us friendships that
stand the test of time
because we are not alone in this rat race of life
we all can relate side by side

So now the sun is coming up
and I grab my coffee cup
on another road trip
just me and you
every weekend its off to another
rink or two

Some may judge
and some may question
why I do what I do
Because I am your biggest fan
I'm your mom and I love you too

You may quit tomorrow
and it would still be okay
Because the life lessons you
learned out there will be more valuable
to you one day

I see how happy you are out there
no worries and no cares
It is just a boy and his stick
with dimples inside that helmet
I have seen your confidence grow
you have come so far more than you know

From a 3 year old knee high rink rat
just trying to keep up
to a young boy
who can't seem to get enough

I love to watch you play
the most important six words a mom could say
I will look back on this and treasure our memories made
our early morning coffee and doughnut dates
I'm really going to miss it someday

So today if I cheer really loud and pound on the glass
When you skate passed
Please don't get embarrassed
because time is going to fast

I'll always be here to support you
in whatever you do
and you should know
I am so proud of you!

Reach for the stars
and you can go far!
You will always be my superstar!
Where ever you land and whatever is your track
I will love you to the moon and back!

HELLO...back at it...

catch up from August...

School has been going great for all the kiddos! Kindergarten has been an adjustment for Jordan now that we are getting homework so I am still trying to figure out how to tackle three homeworks sessions after school. We are getting the hang of it now.

Charlie's aunt Marilyn had passed away from breast cancer in September and and Charlie was able to get out and see her the day before she passed. She was a very special lady and his dad's sister. She had battled for a few years with it and was strong. She was at peace when she passed.

Baseball...Braedyn had a wonderful fall season and great coaches! They had a great run and a ton of fun together. These group of boys are awesome!!

Hockey...has started and we are in the thick of it now with Jordan and Cooper. It has been so much fun to see Cooper out there smiling again and loving the game!! That's what it is all about! Then there is Jordan who is out there looking so intense and tough. He is definately the youngest sibling taking on kids twice his size!

We took a trip to the mountains over fall break to Tennessee to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It was a fun and busy trip and then from there we had went to Knoxville for the Gator/Vols football game. It was fun and I'll post that on a different blog post with some fun pictures.

We had a few scary things happen in September/October as well that I will also post about.

Fall is here and the cold weather had come. The pool is closed and Halloween was last weekend.

Now we are heading into November and can't believe Christmas is not that far away!
